FAQ
A keepsake blanket is a textile creation made from existing clothes, usually those of a baby or child. Rather than keeping these clothes in a box, they are cut into squares and then assembled into a patchwork to create a unique blanket.
The objective is not just aesthetic. It's about transforming textiles steeped in history into a useful object that allows you to keep these memories close to you.
The manufacturing time is approximately 2 weeks from the receipt of your clothes at the workshop. This time is necessary to carefully design your keepsake blanket, cut each piece and assemble the patchwork harmoniously.
Once your order has been placed, you will receive a prepaid shipping label to easily send your clothes. As soon as your creation is finished, it will be shipped and you will receive a tracking number to follow your package.
During periods of high demand (holidays, births, etc.), the processing time may be slightly extended.
The memory blanket is primarily a textile souvenir, designed to preserve clothes steeped in history. It can be used as a throw, a decorative blanket or an extra blanket, but it cannot be considered a product meeting the safety standards for baby articles.
It is therefore not intended to be handled as a toy or used unsupervised by a young child. Its use remains under the responsibility of an adult, especially for infants.
Important information to keep in mind
- the blanket is made from your clothes, which will be cut to create the patchwork
- unused clothes will be returned to you
- it is a souvenir item, designed to last and preserve the emotion linked to the textiles sent
To preserve the garments used and the durability of your keepsake blanket, hand washing is recommended:
- Delicate hand wash
- Do not tumble dry
- Lay flat to dry
- Do not iron the embroidered area
These precautions help protect the original fabrics, which often vary in material and thickness, as well as the embroidery. Gentle care ensures your blanket retains its appearance and history over time.
- You value your clothes instead of storing them. Your clothes are no longer unused: they become a tangible, visible, and everyday object.
- You create a lasting emotional object. Unlike a memory box, the blanket integrates into your daily life and withstands the test of time.
- You keep a record of the early years. Each square preserves a detail, a pattern, or a material that recalls a specific period in your baby's life.
- You get a unique creation. No two blankets are alike, as each depends entirely on the chosen clothes and their history.
- You combine aesthetics and meaning. The patchwork is crafted to be visually harmonious while respecting the clothes' past.
- You choose a versatile object. A decorative throw, a bedspread, a comforting object... the blanket adapts to different uses depending on the chosen size.
